Last day at church…
Today was my last day at the Bayside Ward for two years. I have another ten days before I actually leave, but I will be down in North Carolina next weekend.
The Spirit was so strong at church today. We had two confirmations. One of the men, Brother Miles, is awesome! He is in a wheelchair but he is so full of excitement and energy. As he bore his testimony I just wanted to shout AMEN throughout it. I wish I would have been able to make it to his baptism.
I don’t know if it’s really hit me that I’m leaving yet. I’m generally not an emotional person, as in coming to tears in public (I try to avoid it at all costs) but one would think I’d be a little emotional over leaving for two years. I bore my testimony and said a few words without even coming close to breaking down. Perhaps it just hasn’t fully hit me yet.
The “Old Irish Blessing” on my last post was printed on the cover of our ward bullitin under my picture. I taped the cover into my little mission scrapbook.
Only one more full week before I leave. I think I’m going to quit work early…like after getting paid *grins*

Hey, just popping by to say, about the way you’re feeling, I know exactly what you mean! I leave exactly a fortnight from today, and I just can’t get wound up about it, I’m not exceptionally excited (I am excited, but not crazily so), and I’m not at all sad or nervous about leaving home and fending for myself for two years either.
Maybe it’s just a guy thing
Well the nervousness and anxiety is starting to set in. I have 7 days before leaving…and still so much to do…or at least that’s what my brain keeps telling me. I don’t know…it’s just too crazy. I was writing in my journal last night and wrote something to thr effect, “Who would’ve thought that one simple question to a friend about his faith could drastically change the course of my life.” It did…and now I’m going out to drastically change other people’s lives (or at least give the Spirit and oppertunity to do so). I’m even know worrying about specifics, what I’m going to eat, how I need to iron, if I have enough socks…etc. I better stop before I head out and buy more socks. lol. Thanks for replying…take care.
Joel,
Met two young gentlemen today at a local music store. They were wearing their badges and had on the typical white shirts and dark pants. I started a conversation with them and told them about you coming to the Col Springs mission and told them your name. They said they would look out for you. Kathi Mingo
Hey Mrs. Mingo…
