Mission Update: November 25, 2004

Greetings & Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope all if well with you. I’ve been pretty busy the last couple of weeks. We are working hard and putting a focus on helping the ward missionaries become knowledgable on the new “Preach My Gospel” program and helping those we have been working with progress toward baptism. It looks as if we might be able to baptize Caroline Moore early next month, which is pretty exciting. We’ve had some pretty spiritual lessons with her.

Due to a change in mission policy regarding e-mail this will be my last general e-mail I will be able to send. New guidlines for e-mail require that I use an e-mail account provided by the mission, and only send e-mail to family only. However I have spoken to the Mission President and have received permission to also send email to those families whom I was blessed to have in my life who helped me enter the waters of baptism and continue to support me today. So, for all others, please forgive me, but this will be the last e-mail upi recieve for the remainder of my mission, or until the guidlines change (unlikely). I also will not be posting e-mails onto my live journal after this or creating a photo gallery for my site. However, for those interested, you may continue to write me via snail-mail at the following address…

Elder Joel A. McDonald Jr.
Colorado Colorado Springs Mission
4905 North Union Blvd. Ste. 101
Colorado Springs, CO 80918

Transfers are coming up soon (Dec. 9) and the general feeling is that I will be heading off to another area (which will not affect the above address). Though I probably will be leaving without having accomplished completely what I had hoped, I think I’m ready to serve in another area. If by chance I do not leave, I will probably be in this area (Black Forest/Northgate) for 12 weeks as my current companion has only one more transfer (6 wks) before he returns home.

Thank you for all your messages/letters/cards of help and support. I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful holiday season. Until next time…
