James E. Faust, 1920-2007
James E. Faust, second counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away early this morning at the age of 87. Faust was a man devoted to his faith, having served thirty-five years as a General Authority of the Church and in his last calling since 1995. He will be missed.May his family find comfort in their faith.

In the pain, the agony, and the heroic endeavors of life, we pass through a refiner’s fire, and the insignificant and the unimportant in our lives can melt away like dross and make our faith bright, intact, and strong. In this way the divine image can be mirrored from the soul. It is part of the purging toll exacted of some to become acquainted with God.
